Research and Development is an important activity towards achieving academic excellence. Recognizing this, National Engineering College has set up a separate Research and Development Department to develop and nurture the state-of-the-art research activities at the college. NEC, there exist a driving energy and passion associated with research and development activities. Also the vibrancy level is spreading through our passionate researchers to the outside world.

Research and Development activities bring together, an ecosystem of accomplished researchers from other industries, scientists from research labs, faculty of international repute, brilliant student community, excellent technical & support staff and an effective administration. It ensures an ambience where research and innovations are having timely credits and appreciations. In the research park brings together, in a common ecosystem, accomplished researchers from the industry, creating an ambience where research and innovation are celebrated as a way of life.It is heartening to note that National Engineering College has been able to obtain research funds amounting to Rs.4,80,21,571 (Rupees Four Crores Eighty Lakhs Twenty One Thousand and Five Hundred and Seventy One Only). The year-wise statistics is shown below:
The funds are received from reputed funding agencies like All India Council for Technical Education, Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences, Department of Science and Technology, Defence Research and Development Organization, Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, Indian Council for Medical Research and Council for Scientific and Industrial ResearchIt is also important to note that some of the projects undertaken are of high national importance. These research projects provide opportunities for our faculty members to expertise the state of the art research facilities and interactions with world renowned specialists in their areas of expertise.
